Trustee of the year information

The Trustee of the Year is awarded to a public library trustee who has provided outstanding leadership, distinguished service, and/or exceptional commitment to their library or to libraries on a local, regional or national level. An entire Board may be nominated for exceptional service. Equal consideration is given to Trustees and Boards of small, medium, and large libraries.

Examples of outstanding performance include but are not limited to:

  •  Supporting innovative or creative perspectives

  •  Leading efforts to increase access to underserved populations

  •  Promoting Legislative action to improve libraries

  •  Developing capital improvement or building projects

  •  Building public awareness for library services

  •  Enhancing funding opportunities

  •  Demonstrating commitment to the community through long-term service

    This years submission window has closed, honorees will be announced at the annual meeting on October 19th.
